How did you become a journalist? Growing up an only child, I always enjoyed meeting new people and having meaningful conversations. While I was in school, my favorite subject was writing. That's when two of my favorite things came together and created my love for journalism. Every single day is different, but what doesn't change: I have the privilege of telling people's stories, getting their voices heard and shedding light on community concerns and achievements. What cities have you worked in during your journalism career? I started my journey in my hometown as a writer & producer. I then headed to the even sunnier Palm Springs area (Coachella Valley), where I started as a producer at KESQ News Channel 3. After about 6 months, I became a reporter/multimedia journalist and worked about every position in the newsroom! What are one or two of the most memorable stories you have ever covered? It's impossible to just choose two... but I will never forget covering the trial of missing couple Jonathan Reynoso and Audrey Moran in the Coachella Valley, as well as being calf-deep in mud after Tropical Storm Hilary battered SoCal. A few honorable mentions: the Palm Springs International Film Festival & the inaugural season for the CV Firebirds! What do you love most about being a journalist? I learn something new everyday - whether it be the people or the community. It's so rewarding to be in a position where I can help bring attention to an issue or an accomplishment and potentially make a difference. What’s something people don’t know about you? I am not just a foodie, but I am THE foodie. I'm that person people come to for restaurant suggestions because I love exploring new eateries and trying all kinds of food. Seattle is almost too good with so many options! What do you like to do when you’re not working? You guessed it! I'm probably eating or finding some new eats. Of course, spending time with family and friends is always a top priority. If I have more time, I am most definitely traveling. This world has so much to offer and I love being able to explore it. A few of my favorite places: Philippines, Thailand, Italy, Mexico and Japan.
