Dashcam footage shows SUV intentionally causing head-on collision in Canada

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in the North East Region are investigating an incident where a driver intentionally caused a collision involving a white Toyota Rav 4 on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2024, near the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 65 in the Temiskaming Shores area.

According to the dashcam video, the SUV driver chased down the other vehicle, striking it head-on and pushing it towards a bridge before chasing it and T-boning it further down the road.

Following the collision, police attempted to stop the SUV, eventually deploying a spike belt.

Once the SUV was stopped, the driver was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported from the collision, but the driver was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

James Turner, the victim, said he was a nurse who was heading into a night shift when, for “no reason,” this driver tried to harm him. He added he received excellent care from medics.

The OPP is asking for the public’s help in locating any video or dash camera footage related to the collisions or reports of erratic driving involving the white Toyota Rav 4.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Temiskaming OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and reference occurrence E241708623.
