1,500 gallons of water used to extinguish fire at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery

Fire in old caretaker building at a Tacoma Cemetery

TACOMA, Wash. — The Tacoma Fire Department had to use about 1,500 gallons of water Saturday morning to put out a fire at the Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery.

According to West Pierce Fire and Rescue, which also helped with the firefight, an old caretaker building caught on fire around 5:45 a.m.

The building had been empty for years, and crews kept it from spreading.

No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
