PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A 5-year-old has died after being found unresponsive in a lake south of Tacoma, according to Pierce County Sheriff’s Office(PCSO).
Deputies received a call at around 4:55 p.m. on Saturday near Tanwax Lake.
The child was reported missing after he was seen swimming with a floaty toy and others couldn’t find him, PSCO said.
The boy was not wearing a life jacket.
He was found moments after deputies arrived and was brought to shore unresponsive.
A deputy performed CPR on a paddleboard before firefighters arrived and they brought him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that evening
PCSO says that no arrests have been made in this incident, and they consider it an accident.
