Dog taken during Tukwila home break-in

TUKWILA, Wash. — The Tukwila Police Department is looking for the person who broke into someone’s home and stole their dog, “Cookie.”

It happened on May 16 at a house on 56th Avenue South.

According to the victim, she and her father returned home to find the lock on their front door broken and Cookie gone.

“Then I went knocking on my neighbor’s doors asking if they had seen anything,” she said. “Then, eventually, I got a video of a lady walking by a home carrying a green blanket.”

This video of a woman carrying a green blanket, missing from the victim‘s home. She didn’t see Cookie but believes the woman has her, too.

Besides Cookie, the crook took money the woman was saving for college in the fall. But she says that pales beside the loss of her dog.

“At the moment, I only care about finding my dog and getting her back home with me,” she said.

Cookie is a small black short-haired chihuahua with tan front legs and some white on its snout.

Police believe they’re looking for a transient woman in her 50s or 60s with blonde hair and a thin build.

The woman is known to frequent convenience stores near Interurban Avenue and I-5.

If you see someone matching this description with this dog, call Tukwila police at (206)-241-2121 to report it.
