Edmonds massage employees hospitalized after being attacked at work

Eva Spa and Massages in Edmonds

EDMONDS, Wash. — The Edmonds Police Department says two women are in the hospital after someone attacked them while at work.

It happened just before 6 p.m. at Eva Spa Massage on Edmonds Way.

Police say a 48-year-old man – who workers identified as a previous customer – barged into the business and locked the door behind him.

Officers say the man hit the workers with a metal coat rack.

The women were able to escape outside, but the suspect followed, and officers say they found them unconscious when they arrived.

Witnesses told police which direction the attacker ran, and they tracked him down a short time later.

Officers say the man made comments while being handcuffed that he was ‘upset’ that he didn’t kill the women.

They say he was also wearing gloves that had blood dripping from them.

One woman was transported to Swedish Edmonds, and the other was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
