Seattle firefighters say funeral home fire set on purpose

SEATTLE — The Seattle Fire Department says someone intentionally set a fire that burned down a funeral home in the Columbia City neighborhood on Wednesday morning.

The department sent an update about the investigation just before 10:30 a.m.

Crews were called to the Columbia Funeral Home & Crematory on Rainier Avenue South around 4 a.m.

They searched the building and didn’t find anyone inside.

They extinguished the fire in about two hours.

No one was hurt.
