SEATTLE — The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) reported that crews recovered a body from the Duwamish River on Sunday afternoon.
According to KCSO, deputies say they received a call from a person who was paddleboarding on the Duwamish River near the Duwamish Yacht Club at around 5:25 p.m.
The caller said that they thought they saw a dead body in the river.
The KCSO Marine Unit responded and confirmed the death.
KCSO Marine Unit will work alongside the KCSO Major Crimes Unit, the KCSO Missing Persons Coordinator, and the King County Medical Examiner’s Office (KCMEO) to identify the person and determine the cause and manner of death.
