WOODLAND, Wash. — A tow truck driver in Woodland recently solved a three-year mystery: what happened to Terry ‘TJ’ Shinaver?
On April 30, 2021, Shinaver went to the Ilani Casino Resort in Ridgefield— but he never made it home.
The St. Helens Police Department in Oregon posted a picture of him and his truck about two weeks later, hoping someone might know where he was—but the case went cold.
On Dec. 7 his body was discovered in a truck, submerged in water off Dike Road, according to a news release from the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say a tow truck was called to the area for a vehicle that had gone off the road. However, it was Shinaver’s truck that was pulled from the water.
The coroner’s office says Shinaver drowned and that it was accidental.
