SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department (SPD) says they are investigating a shooting that happened just after 1 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Rainier Avenue South, near Franklin High School.

The high school went into a shelter-in-place after hearing reports that shots were fired in the community, Seattle Public Schools tells KIRO 7.

Just after 4:30 p.m., SPD confirmed that a 15-year-old boy had been shot in the pelvis.

He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious, but stable condition.

According to SPD, the victim and two other boys were at a gas station when they were shot at by two suspects on a lime scooter. One of the boys returned gunfire, before the two boys left in a car, leaving the victim behind.

The suspects fled on the scooter before police arrived, and officers have not found them.

No arrests have been made and the circumstances are under investigation, anyone with information is asked to contact the SPD violent crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
