SWAT arrests man following shooting in North Seattle

SEATTLE — Seattle Police say the department’s SWAT team arrested a man after a shooting on Friday near Aurora Avenue North and North 100th Street.

At around 11:30 a.m. officers found a 26-year-old man shot in the ankle and began to search for a suspect who police learned fled on a bicycle, the department said in a release.

Following a two-hour search with the help of the King County Sheriff’s Office, SWAT found the shooting suspect a few blocks away at North 96th Street and arrested him without incident, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

It’s unknown what led to the shooting, but anyone with information is asked to call Violent Crimes Tipline at (206) 233-5000.
