One person shot following break-in attempt at a Seattle pot shop

SEATTLE, Wash. — The King County Sheriff’s Office says one person is in the hospital after being shot in Seattle’s White Center neighborhood.

No word on their condition.

Deputies say that just before midnight, several people tried to get into the store.

A witness said the owner went to the shop at some point to fix a door and then was possibly chased by the people attempting to rob the store.

People who live in the area told KIRO 7 there was a chase between a truck and a car that ended in a front yard.

“I just heard a couple of loud crashes and I was in the living room at the time so I peaked outside and that’s why I see the yellow flashes and heard pops,” said a resident who wanted to remain anonymous.

The neighbor KIRO 7 spoke with says his parked car was damaged and his fence was destroyed.

“ [The] truck was the one that was filled up with bullet holes, even though it was the one that crashed into the sedan,” he said.

Deputies say there was a shooting that injured one person, but investigators did not explain when the shots were fired or what led up to the chase between the two cars.

Another resident told KIRO 7 that she saw the victim.

“I saw another person walking stumbling in front of my house in my driveway. He fell flat on his face,” she said.

There are no suspects currently, and the case is under review.
