PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The Peninsula Light Company has begun to restore power to residents between the Key Peninsula and Gig Harbor areas.

A mechanical failure led to over 30,000 people without power Friday morning when at around 9:25 a.m., PenLight posted that their entire system was out of power.

In a post on X, PenLight said they’re slowly bringing substations back online to prevent overloading the power system.
