RENTON, Wash. — Police are searching for two suspects who dragged and shot the owner of a car during a prowl in Renton.
Around 3:25 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to South 27th Place in Renton, about a person who was shot.
Police said the victim was trying to stop his car from being stolen by grabbing onto the driver-side window as the suspects were leaving.
The 35-year-old victim was dragged and then shot by one of the suspects.
The suspects drove away in the victim’s car which was found hours later along with the suspects’ original car.
Both cars were taken in as evidence.
Investigators said they received calls from at least five other prowls that night and said there were two suspects and are considered armed and dangerous.
Police are asking residents along the route of Benson Road from South 27th Place, east on Southeast 168th Street, north on 128th Avenue Southeast, east on Southeast 164th Street and north on 132nd Place Southeast to check their street-facing cameras for possible video of the suspects leaving the scene.
Police are looking for footage between 3:15 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and believe this was the route taken.
Police would also like to talk with any residents along 1100 South 27th Place and had their cars prowled.
