Roundup of roads and highways blocked by storm debris

UPDATED 9:30 a.m. - Wednesday, November 20

Transportation and maintenance crews are working to clear roads and make repairs following last night’s bomb cyclone that swept across the Puget Sound.

Snohomish County Public Works Department:

WSDOT shared a list of what roads are fully blocked by fallen trees and/or downed power lines, noting that all of these closures are expected to be lengthy, so seek alternate routes. For SR 18, freight traffic should not use Iss-Hobart Road or city streets, which are not suitable for trucks. Finally, assume downed power lines are live, and don’t go near them.

SR 20 at Ensley Road (MP 77) in Hamilton is fully blocked due to downed trees/powerlines, with no ETA for reopening.

Northbound and southbound State Route 9 are closed north of Hoogdal Road (between mileposts 60 and 66) early Wednesday due to multiple downed trees and power lines near Sedro-Woolley, with no ETA to reopen.

Eastbound and westbound State Route 164 are closed near Southeast 368th Place (milepost 5) early Wednesday due to fallen trees and downed power lines southeast of Auburn, with no ETA to reopen.

State Route 18 is still closed in both directions between I-90 and Issaquah-Hobart Road due to downed trees near the Tiger Mountain summit, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

A downed tree blocked four lanes of northbound I-405 just south of I-90 Tuesday night, but crews were able to remove the tree and reopen the affected lanes around midnight.

Black Diamond Police Department shared closures in the area along 3rd Avenue and 224th Avenue Southeast with large trees and power lines down in the roadway, and no ETA for reopening.

Crews in Bothell were also working Wednesday morning to clear several blocked roads:

Seattle City Light reminded travelers to give utility workers and first responders ample space as they survey damage, secure public safety, and restore power.
