One Seattle Day of Service returns with over 110 events planned for May 20

SEATTLE — On Wednesday, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell announced that the One Seattle Day of Service will be returning for a second year.

Over 110 service events are planned throughout the city’s neighborhoods on Saturday, May 20, and over 100 partner organizations have already signed up to participate.

“This event will bring thousands of residents from all across the city together, asking them to roll up their sleeves and give their time and energy back to their community,” said Harrell.

Harrell made the announcement at Powell Barnett Park in the Central District due to its legacy of community involvement.

Registration is now open for over 3,000 volunteer shifts, most of which are two to three hours long.

Some of the volunteer activities planned include collecting trash, removing graffiti, gardening and packing donations.
