Trooper Rick Seaburg returns to work 11 months after he was shot 9 times on the job.

KENT, Wash. — A Washington State Trooper who was shot nine times on the job returned to work this week— 11 months after he was hospitalized.

In February of 2024, Raymond Seaburg tried stopping someone, suspected of driving under the influence, in Kent.

According to court documents, Trooper Seaburg was headed southbound on State Route 167 when he spotted the driver, who was speeding.

Detectives said he followed the truck off the East Willis Street exit and onto Washington Avenue North where the driver reportedly crashed into another car.

Detectives said both suspects inside the truck, 28-year-old Danielle Falcon and 31-year-old Jason Posada, got out of the stolen truck and ran off.

Trooper Seaburg followed them to the Driftwood Apartment complex, where according to the documents, Posada shot him five times with his gun, then stole Trooper Seaburg’s gun and shot him again.

He was shot nine times in total.

Trooper Seaburg was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Posada was charged with assault in the first degree, unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree, and theft of a firearm.

He pled not guilty in March of 2024.

His trial is set for February 24 of this year.
