Seattle police arrested a felony suspect after an hourslong standoff inside a Safeway in West Seattle on Wednesday morning.
Officers responded at 10:12 a.m. to a report of a violent assault involving a female victim near the 9600 block of 28th Avenue Southwest.
According to police, the suspect, reportedly under the influence of methamphetamine, threatened the victim with a dagger.
The suspect was found inside the Safeway but refused to comply with officers, prompting a negotiation process. After several hours, he was arrested without further incident.
Police recovered the weapon, and medics treated the suspect before being transported to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation.
He is expected to be booked into King County Jail on charges of felony assault, harassment, and indecent liberties.
The incident remains under investigation.
