SEATTLE — Seattle Police (SPD) have taken a man into custody after he allegedly shot at an officer and ran off.
The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Friday in the Rainier Beach neighborhood.
It’s the second call that officers are handling this morning.
Chief Shon Barnes said the officer responded to a domestic violence call near Pritchard Island Beach. Officers said a man was choking his partner.
The officer responded, and there was some type of struggle. The officer ended up using their taser and the suspect fired a gun.
The responding officer was not injured.
The suspect ran off, and police later found him in Lake Washington.
He stayed in the water for several minutes before first responders were able to get him out.
The man was taken into custody just before 9 a.m.
