Seattle Police are investigating two fatal hit-and-run incidents involving pedestrians that occurred early Saturday morning, February 1, according to the Seattle Police Department.
The first crash happened at approximately 1:21 a.m. in the Ballard neighborhood at the intersection of Northwest Market Street and 15th Avenue Northwest.
Witnesses reported seeing a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Northwest Market Street strike a 39-year-old man.
The pickup truck driver then sped away eastbound on Northwest Market Street.
Despite life-saving efforts at the scene and transport to Harborview Medical Center, the man died from his injuries.
The second hit-and-run happened around 2:08 a.m. in Bitter Lake at the intersection of North 125th Street and Aurora Avenue North.
Witnesses told investigators they saw a silver sedan speeding northbound on Aurora Avenue North strike a 42-year-old man who was crossing the street.
Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, but he later died.
The circumstances surrounding both collisions are under investigation.
