BURIEN, Wash. — Update from Thursday, June 26:
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 16-year-old as Angel Gabriel Estrada.
Friends of his family have started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and grief support.
A 16-year-old boy was found shot to death inside a home in Burien Friday evening, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 20, King County deputies responded to reports of a shooting inside a home on SW 142nd Street, a side street off of 1st Avenue S behind the Fred Meyer.
When they arrived, they found a teen with gunshot wounds.
Medics and deputies tried to save his life, but he died on the scene.
“I’ve had a few interactions with them, so it’s just, I feel bad for them. I think it’s a horrible situation for everybody,” said a nearby resident who wanted to remain anonymous.
A Burien homeowner told KIRO 7 she saw the family standing outside the house after it happened.
“I thought there would be more emotional reaction from the people if there was somebody that was deceased, but we didn’t see that,” she explained.
She shared a Ring video showing cop cars and ambulances flooding into her neighborhood.
Just 30 minutes before police arrived, her cameras caught three to four teens walking into the house.
“I did notice them all going into the basement unit of the house. And then the next thing I caught was a video from my Ring of a police officer walking down the driveway,” the neighbor explained.
The King County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed whether the victim and suspect are in the video or what led up to the shooting.
Deputies said they have not taken anyone into custody for the shooting.
They said they don’t think there is a threat to the public at the moment.
Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident.
KCSO plans to release additional details as the case develops.
