RENTON, Wash. — A 57-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital after she was shot in the neck while using an ATM in downtown Renton.
According to Renton police, the shooting happened just before 6:35 p.m. on Burnett Ave. S.
Police said the woman had just used the ATM when the suspect tried to steal her purse. There was a struggle, and the suspect grabbed her purse and then shot the woman.
The woman was taken to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
The suspect escaped and hasn’t been found. Witnesses described the suspect to police as a black man in his 20s wearing all red.
Police say they are continuing to look for him as the investigation continues.
