A system network issue at Washington State Ferries is affecting various programs.
WSF said it’s dealing with a hardware malfunction, which its IT team is working to correct.
While it is dealing with the issue, WSF is still working offline and processing payments, route fares and other operations.
However, IT is still working on the online reservation system and passengers are asked to be patient.
KIRO 7 was told the issue has nothing to do with the rollout of the new ORCA card system, though it has been reported that there are some outages with the ORCA cards, and not exclusively with regard to ferries.
Also, the Marion Street Exit at Coleman Dock will open Thursday morning after being closed for major construction for 20 months. This will give ferry commuters easier access when loading and alighting.
