PHOTOS: Winter weather hits Western Washington East Pierce Fire: "Shortly before 7 a.m. this morning, East Pierce firefighters responded to a structure fire in a Tehaleh neighborhood in #BonneyLake.
The homeowner called 911 after noticing a burning smell and activated smoke alarms. Crews arrived to find a light haze of smoke inside the home. After a thorough search, crews identified the smoke source as the furnace and encouraged the homeowner to follow up with an HVAC company.
Fortunately, no injuries or significant damage is reported.
Especially during these cold snaps, please remember to do routine maintenance on your HVAC system and replace filters regularly.
