A zealous hockey fan took to Washington skies to show his love for his favorite team.
Jeremy Katz is a Boeing engineer in Seattle, but he was born and raised in New Jersey - the home of the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils.
On Tuesday, Katz flew his Cessna from Renton to all around South Seattle, drawing an enormous Devils logo within the flight path of his plane.
KIRO 7 News asked Katz what the reaction has been from his hometown team. “It’s been pretty good,” Katz said. “I’ve gotten a lot more press than I was expecting. I figured someone would see it and smile about it, but the Devils posted and tweeted about it. The NHL picked it up. It’s gone through a whole bunch of New Jersey media, Canadian media picked it up now.”
Katz said the stunt was weather dependent, so it involved changing altitudes and lots of sharp turns in the wind and rain.
This wins today.

“I’ve heard from some people back east who have seen it,” Katz said, “The Devils contacted me. They’re going to find me during the game tonight.”
The Seattle Kraken play the New Jersey Devils Thursday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
“It’s been a fun couple of days,” Katz said.
